Red Ants Pants, Campout for the Cause, and more…...

Greetings from Camp Smokie!

We're excited for so many things in 2015! Our summer schedule is pretty much booked up now and we'll be rolling out announcements at a good clip this Spring.

We had a blast in Boise, ID as part of the 4th Annual Treefort Fest! This rapidly growing celebration of music saw The Lil' Smokies shining their americana-roots-grass light on a new audience of indie-rock, dance electronic, and folk lovers. We feel we represented Missoula well!

We're happy to announce our inclusion in the 5th Annual 2015 Red Ants Pants Festival in White Sulphur Springs, MT July 25th! We'll be sharing the stage with the likes of Ryan Bingham, Keb Mo, Lee Ann Womack, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, our friends The Shook Twins, and many more! We'll be on the main stage at noon on Saturday.  See you there!

We're also happy to announce our inclusion in the 2015 Campout for the Cause at Rancho Del Rio, Colorado! This intimate event supports a few VERY important causes - American Rivers, one of the largest and most successful organizations in the US dedicated to protecting rivers throughout the US since 1973, The Eagle Valley Land Trust, bent on preserving the uniqueness of the lands of Eagle County and the Central Rocky Mountains of Colorado, All Hands Volunteers, addressing the immediate and long-tern needs of communities impacted by natural disasters.

We're on the map at Planet Bluegrass! Coming up April 17th, we'll be in Lyons, CO as part of the first Wildflower Concert Series since the extensive damage to the home of Planet Bluegrass in the flood of 2013. They've built a new stage that we are happy to hop onto and pick for all to hear!

STAY TUNED FOR MORE loyal fans of The Lil' Smokies! We LOVE YOU!!!!

Spotlight on The City Web Radio

We've been included in a cool web radio show on www.breakthruradio.com called "Spotlight on the City" hosted by DJ Lottie out of New York City.  Missoula is the subject of this show and not only does it include The Lil Smokies, but Britchy, Wartime Blues, The Magpies, Radio Static, and a whole bunch more. Really cool idea, really cool show! Check it out:

Fall 2014 Installment!

Hello fans!

We've just about recovered from one heck of a Halloween show here in Missoula with Portland's Fruition at our favorite haunt, The Top Hat.  November finds us coming to terms with the fact that Missoula weather is less than ideal until April! We've got all kinds of news to report heading into the winter!

Andy is getting a new Dobro! Jesse got married!!! We're working on releasing a single! We're headed back to the Pacific Northwest (Tour Dates)!! We've got re-designed merchandise that is now available through our website (Store)!!!!

Now, on to some more 'meaty' stuff!

This past September we were nominated by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) for their Momentum in Bluegrass Award.  It's hard to express how honored we are to be recognized in Nashville!

We'll be heading to Colorado for a large part of January 2015 for a tour of the front range and ski towns. We're looking forward to this as one of our biggest opportunities yet to spread the 'Smokie' word! With specific dates to come and formal tour announcements in the works, we'll leave it at this for now: Look for us at some of the classic spots for live music enthusiasts like Smiggity's in Steamboat, Cervantes Other Side in Denver, The Eldo in Crested Butte, and Fly Me To The Moon Saloon in Telluride. We'll be spreading our Montana party in Colorado for 2 weeks.

For those of you who don't already know, we are now working with Blue Sun Entertainment on all our booking. Sidd Kalstrom and Reid Foster are busy getting The Lil' Smokies into new markets and helping to expand our tour radius! Look for us in California in the Spring of 2015 and perhaps even Virginia and surrounding Southeast areas!

Lot's of things in the works at Camp Smokies - stay in touch, go see some live music, and we hope to come to your town soon.

Salud!!

Live New Year's Eve album to be released March 26th!

Next Wednesday - March 26th, hot off the press, our first live album will be arriving in town. We promised a copy to all our fans who attended the early show on that fateful night - the last evening in 2013 - and here it comes!

Full of high energy Smokie jams, you'll hear six new original tunes, three of ours from the first studio album "The Lil' Smokies", and three fun cover tunes.

The CD will be available at Ear Candy and Rockin' Rudy's here in Missoula, at CDBaby digitally and physically, and will be available for download from most online outlets very soon.

We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it!

Merry Holidaze and other early winter sugar-plum visions....

Well, we're in for it now. We've decided to take the plunge and record a live album for New Year's Eve 2013 at The Top Hat. There will be all kinds of fun to be had, drinks to be drank, appetizers to appetize, commemorative artwork to appreciate. We've been hard at work arranging and working on a whole slew of BRAND SPANKING NEW TUNES that we will be revealing to you at this show. There are two tiers of tickets as well, folks:

For the $25.00 ticket, there will be heavy appetizers, champagne, a really cool oversized silkscreen print of the "ticket," a copy of the "live album" when it's released, admission to the early set, which starts at 8:00pm, and the main event at 10:00pm. For the $10.00 ticket, you'll gain admission to the main event (starting at 10:00pm). We are unbelievably excited for this night. Of all the Lil' Smokies' shows, this is definitely one we wouldn't recommend missing... See ya there and Happy Holidays!

you can purchase tickets for the evening at the following link, or at the Top Hat box office:

Tryptophan Dreams

Folks...

Alot of things have happened in the last couple months. The main being we smoothly and successfully toured the Northwest for two weeks in a turquoise/greenish river rafting van we named Chris. Being the inexperienced, trembling, and nervous virgins of "the road", no one really new what to expect. But it was a wild success, with equal emphasis on "wild" and "success".  We played great venues, had packed crowds, met incredibly cool people, drank eclectic coffee, slept on lush couches and floors, embraced the rain and the ubiquitous grey, and didn't even get a damn flat tire. I can say with no doubt it was the funnest time we've all ever had. So fun, in fact, we'll be doing it again in the same area in February! Basing it around Wintergrass, which we are so thrilled to have been asked to play this year.

So now, as the Thanksgiving-food-coma is starting to diminish, we can put our forks into things of true importance... like arranging a slew of new tunes and prepping for our New Years Live at the Top Hat album, which will be recorded this New Year's Eve. We've got a ton of new tunes on the stove that we are stirring up and putting the final touches on. We're really, really, really excited for you all to hear them. We think you will be quite fond of them.

With regard to upcoming shows, we'll be playing the Great Northern Bar, in Whitefish, MT on the 13th of December and then Dec 31st at the Top Hat

Good news firing on all spheres...

Until we see you again, you lovely voyagers of the Universe, be careful and be kind.
